Does anyone feed slices of broccoli or cauliflower stem?? I was fixing broccili for supper, and decided to try a couple of slices of stem. Anyone done this? what about a piece of the top part??
The broccoli stem sunk on it's own, which was nice.

We like them with either butter or cheese sauce. Even my kids will eat it.

Oh, wait.... You meant feeding fish. Ooooohhhh, thats different.
I have given my fish some of the tops of broccoli. They didn't seem to take after it like they do peas, but they did eat it.

Nursie, You are from Peoria too? Which store do you purchase your fish from? I prefer Charlies Aquarium in pekin. Did your fish eat the broccoli stem?

All my fish will eat broccoli stems. It's not a real fav, they'd prefer zucchini, but they will eat it.

All my herbivore fish, especially the goldfish, love broccoli florets and gobble them like crazy.

I have not tried cauliflower. I did try parsnip, but that didn't go over very well.

I have tried broccoli and cauliflower stems. Same holds true for me as Roan Art said, "It's not a real fav, they'd prefer zucchini, but they will eat it." They're nibbled on, but not devoured like the zucchini. I do find I have to boil them to get them very soft first, in order to get them to eat it.

Wow, another peoria person!! I have shopped Charlies for years and I have concerns as to the quality of their fish lately. I did get some neons and a betta at Petco for my 5 gal at work and they are fine. I can't stand Super pets....I thought Petsmart was doing better, but not so sure.

I'm in a fish club and we are having an auction in April..we'll have lots of fish, and equipment goes dirt cheap. that's where I've gotten the most fish recently.

I recently purchased a weather loach from super pets and it caused my tank to crash so that was nice....but it was my fault for not quaratining. I do appreciate that they do tell you the truth about the size of pacu's. They told me that the pacu they have there busted itself out of a 150 gallon tank. Youre right about Charlies....I think they have lost a couple of the more experienced people and the tanks are looking a little cruddy lately. I havent decided on Petsmart yet. Petco seems to have clean tanks but they have little selection. I have been looking for some good small marble angelfish...If you find any would ya let me know? Its good to know there are people on here from my area.
