got a couple male plecos, one is a little bigger than the other. But the larger male is kind of brown for some reason.

Just wanted to get some input on that. Anyone have bn juvies that are different color? I have 3 total, the 2 males have bristles though one only has 1 bristle so far. the other is a female for sure. They love to battle in the center of the tank, which makes for good pics.

I bought these at a lfs

My 3 unsexed juvies (over an inchish) have much similar coloring, and one is more brown then black.

What do you feed yours, mine love blanched zuchini and hikari algae wafers...

I have about 5 different spawnings in my tank now. I think it is really interesting that the albinos have a white edge on their tail like the normal browns do.

The white edge is found only on juvies and will disappear with maturity. In the OP's pics, the brown one appears to be a male.

They might be different colors but they are very cute!!!!

thanks all! yeah they are both males, the black one acutally has 1 big bristle growing in lol. he looks like a unicorn. I thought I picked out 2 females but, it's 2 males and 1 female. It's funny that the 2 males are already fighting, makes good picks though

Becareful I didnt think it was really something to worry bout to much but males can and sometimes will kill off rival males. I just had that happen to my Long Fin L-144 male. He looked so nice to and had a nice full belly now he be in fishy heaven. Keep an eye on them. Better to be safe then sorry like me.

Ummmm what is that, that your feeding your BN's in that pic???
