I was thinking of breeding ghost shrimp..for no purpose if your wondering just to see if i could. I was wondering if its ever been done.So if you have any experince or links i would appreciate any help.

I've heard many stories of this ranging from a barrel sitting outside to using ponds and brackish water but the problem is, there are several species and subspecies of ghost shrimp and they reproduce in different envrionments.

I did find this though: http://www.****************/catalog_pages/misc_critters/shrimp_ghost_p2.htm look at the last reply. http://www.fishpondinfo.com/shrimp2.htm and this, Scroll down a little ways

thanks ill check it out although i was just going to get a 5 or ten gallon tank

That may work too. I don't know myself. I've kept them but never bred them.

 Hi all!! Not to take over your thread but I have a couple questions about ghost shrimp. I have about 5 or 6 (not totally sure!) ghost shrimp in my 10 gallon, 3 of which are getting fairly large, approx. 1 to 1 1/2 inches and the other 2 or 3 are still pretty tiny. One of the largest of the large three is carrying eggs. I posted a question awhile ago about what to do but decided I would just let nature take it's course. Well now I'm getting impatient because she is still carrying these darned eggs around. It's been at least a week now since I've noticed them. At first they were bright green and now they are getting more clear around the edges and a darker green in the center. How much longer is she gonna truck around the tank with these eggs? Oh and also how do you sex ghost shrimp? Are the really big ones females? or males? Thanks all!!!
