So, the leeches that often come along in blackworms you get from the store - has anyone actually figured out exactly which species they are?

I couldn't figure out where my leech problem was coming from until I started a blackworm tank. I moved 45 minutes away from my blackworm source. No one locally has them. I can confirm leeches come with the blackworms. I don't know what species they are, but they don't seem to hurt fish, snails, shrimp that I've been able to detect. They are just gross. I aggresively hunt them out of the worm tank and any tank I find them in. My badis badis love to eat them.

I recently got some blackworms from aquaticfoods. I emailed them back to ask about the 'leeches' and he said they were some type of flatworm and they were harmless, and likely to be eaten.

That's all I've found so far.

I read somewhere that they're harmless plant leeches. Which seems to make sense since I always saw them on the tank glass seemingly in search of algae. My recent batch of black worms didn't have any.

those must be different ones than the ones I got then. they didn't go after any algae, they just planted themselves like the rest of the worms and waved back and forth lol.
except for one that tried to crawl away, but I sucked it out (turkey baster) and tossed it, muahahaha! ;)

Most of them actually stuck to the inside of the dropper / turkey baster, so then I'd just rinse it out and toss them critters. :)
