what other kind of fish is safe to put in with them

there are many fish that go along with black skirt tetras, but the best idea is to put them with other tetras such as neons or cardinals.

Check out my sig; My black skirts have lived peacefully with everybody for about a year now.

Hi, Danielle. Our tank has Black Skirt Tetra's with Zebra Danio's,
White Clouds, Albino Cory Cats, and 1 male Betta. They all get along
very well--although the Betta is a troublemaker ;)

Our tank has been up since Christmas with really no problems from
this mix of fishies! Berta

we put the black skirt in out tank with our full gown angles that have been in there for year we had to give the tetras to the boyfriends parent cuz the tetras were eatign there fins

I was surprised to read recently that black skirts can be nippy among themselves. My five are afraid of their own shadows and do not bother each other or any other fish. They live in a 75g with danios, neons and clown loaches. Until I added the clowns (yesterday) the black skirts stayed to themselves, hidden in the tall plants, and only swam around after lights out. With the addition of the clowns they are more bold and are swimming around the tank during the day. Generally black skirts can get along with any community-type fish.
