I was surprised to read recently that black skirts can be nippy among themselves. My five are afraid of their own shadows and do not bother each other or any other fish. They live in a 75g with danios, neons and clown loaches. Until I added the clowns (yesterday) the black skirts stayed to themselves, hidden in the tall plants, and only swam around after lights out. With the addition of the clowns they are more bold and are swimming around the tank during the day. Generally black skirts can get along with any community-type fish.
