Just wondering if anybody knows of any auto feeder set-ups that will do more than a week. Due to work reasons I tend to be away for more than a week at a time. I know that some breeds can go without a feed for a bit of time but I'd prefer not to stess the poor little buggers if I can help it.

I use the pentair aquatics lifegaurd feeders. They will do as much as 15 days once a day, There is a bulk hopper available for longer term feeding but I haven't tried that and don't know how well it will work. I haven't tried the Eheim's but they come highly reccomended in the world of auto feeders. the advantages (in my mind ) of the pentair feeder is 1. it's Ac so no batteries to replace, 2. you measure the amount of food it dispenses each day. it is essentially 15 seperate hoopers that dump one at a time, so you can mix and change quantities at will.
Disadvantages 1. only 15 feeding before it's empty no flexibility without the bulk hopper (sold seperately) 2. It won't hold a full size alge wafer without breaking it into 3 pieces.

Have an Eheim and a cheapo feeder

I have both an Eheim, and one of those cheapo round feeders (the kind you get at Walmart). To be honest both of them do their jobs quite well, although I much prefer the scheduled features of the Eheim, and the ability to press the button and have it feed them then. The fish are used to it's motor noise, and immediately come up looking as soon as it starts.

As a sidenote, a coworker and I are looking at making our own type of autofeeder, to support frozen and other larger foods... I'll let people know as we actually get going on the project.
