Are backstabbers at the workplace common?

I been backstabbed so many times and often by malicious tatics that were not true..Like today, a brand new part time employee who rarely works there accused me for not doing something the day before..And I did it..I overheard her talk to the manager and I stepped up and said I did it yesterday..Then she has the nerve to say something else, like this was not properly written..

I am a male nurse..You dont see to many male nurses..They are mostly female..Women would say that women are the worst to work with..They are catty and will start trouble such as backstabbing people at work..Even my fellow female coworkers warned me about working with women..

Let's not split hairs :D. Anyway, my last two jobs have been about 90% women co-workers so there are perks and then there are downs. I've had people try to steal my work\ideas, talk behind my back, yadda yadda, people are gonna do it, regardless of sex. The thing is to just let it go otherwise they win. Harder to say than do...

No you are wrong..You see mostly men are police officers..Usually there is a code of silence among them..Meaning that when they see something wrong, it is not mentioned to anyone..

Also, this might seem kind of off the wall, but men go into war and not women..Your fellow male comrade in war will save you from being killed in battle..It is in the same in the workplace, the mentaility of a male saving your behind in getting into trouble..

Women just think differently..They have a different mind set...They talk more, gossip more, are more catty, etc..That is just how they are..Even women will tell you that..

Plus nursing. They are real gossips. Especially night shifts when things are quieter. And why is it that so many nurses smoke?? About 75% of nurses smoke here - well at the hospital my bestfriend works at.

There is some of that kind of behavior everywhere, but in some places there will be more of it. I hated the hospital I did my clinicals at because it was very much like a soap opera there, with alot of affairs, cattiness, backstabbing, cliques, drama, etc. They couldn't have offered me enough to work there when I graduated.

There has been a bit of that stuff at the other 2 hospitals I've worked at, but not NEARLY as much. I've been out of school for 10yrs now, and still to this day, when I ask new students what it's like over there at McLeod now, I hear the same. Eventhough the employee turnover is so fast, there is almost an entirely different staff now, the atmosphere is the same. No one manages to come in and break the cycle.

LOL how ironic can you get?

I really don't like a big workplaces like that for those reaons... I want to get a job like a police officer, fireman, biologist, freelace writer, park ranger ect. I like jobs where I go out and do and see things and don't have to go through a bunch of workplace drama. give me liberty from a cubicle or give me death! never shall my body be clothed in a suit!

What exactly does that have to do with anything? My point was that in certain places, it's more like that and will never change. It's not like that everywhere. The atmosphere in each place I've been pretty much remains the same, as new people come in and adapt to the way things are in that particular place. Perhaps your female coworkers could give your work ethics a rest and complain to management about your sexist attitude though. :) You know they say, when it seems like everyone is against you, maybe the problem isn't everyone else... so perhaps the problem isn't that you work with alot of women.
