Are 2 dwarf puffers able to coexist with one young green spotted puffer?

I have a 15 gallon freshwater tank with two dwarf puffers and two ghost shrimp. I was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with dwarf and green spotted puffer together. The research I have done tells me that GSPs do well in FW in it's early life but must eventually live in BW. I just want to make sure they won't kill each other before I add one in the tank.

not a good choice, GSP's do better in slightly brackish water when young. I would think the GSP will eat the DP. They are badA##es

GSPs go from FW-->BW--SW. They need low-end brackish when less than 2", medium brackish water at 2", and full marine when they reach adulthood, 4". They grow to about 6".

GSPs stunt extremely easily and need a 30g minimum tank when very young.

GSPs will eat DPs and anything else it can chomp on.

I put a dwarf puffer in with my GSP and the small one followed the GSP's every move. I thought how cute! BUT the GSP eventually turned around and tried to chomp down on the little puffer...I had to remove him from the tank. Now I believe he was riding the GSP's tail to keep him from noticing him or eating him. GSP doesn't like to share his tank but he's lots of fun to watch!

That's not always true. I have a live example in my tank: 2 GSPs living peacefully with a DP. They totally ignore each other.

Not to mention DPs are full freshwater and shouldnt be mixed with GSPs, Figure8s. Just because they are all puffer fish doesnt mean they have the same care requirements. Listen to what Roan said.

That's a neat observation! It's like something a seal would do when it's being hunted by a great white shark. It's a sinister game where the goal is to stay glued to the sharks' tail.

Yes, s2kdrift, as everyone has said: don't do it. The two have different water chemistry (salinity) requirements, not to mention the possibility of harm to the dwarf puffers.

I have dwarf puffers in their own tank, and have never once thought of keeping them with another species. mindoverma has the experience with the exact scenario you were proposing, so please try to learn from her story.
