Hi guys

How would you aquascape this tank? What plants are best suited for a tank this size? I would like it to be a low light, low tech plant.

It's my male betta's standard 2.5 gallon rectangular tank.

Specifications:

-Caribsea peace river gravel
-A piece of mopani wood
-A few smooth river rocks
-Azoo Mignon 60 HOB filter (modify with Aquaclear sponge and biomax).
-Hydro Theo Aquarium 25 watt heater
-Perfect-A-Strip Incandescent Light Fixture (going to use Cal bulb, just don't know what wattage to use in such a short tank)

Any help, tips, and advice will be greatly appreciated!

I've always wanted to try Peace River, I love the size & color!!

I haven't tried LEDs but java fern, (java moss, meh); & most cryptocorynes should work well for you.

I'd like to see some added height, java fern "Philippine" is slow growing & smaller. It would look nice attached to your wood. There are several colors of crypt that might look good in the substrate (red, brown, bronze, mi oya, etc) to contrast with the java fern.

Your pretty betta would love some plants to rest & play in! In NY you should be able to find some of those...just 1 or 2 to start with. It'll be awesome!
