I was just wondering if apple snails will eat apples. I'm trying to find some fresh food for my two brigs to eat and so far all I've seen them eat is a bit of cucumber. I tried broccoli and they wanted nothing to do with it. I've got a Granny Smith apple here ready to cut up but I'm just wondering if I'm wasting my time. Thanks!

Apples are too high in sugar and too low in calcium to be a good staple food for snails, but they do make a good occasional treat. Just one small slice, though. A whole apple will take a long time to be eaten and will pollute your water quickly.

Remember that brigs need softened food - blanched or microwaved in a wet paper towel for a few seconds. Fresh, raw veggies are too tough for their delicate little teeths, haha! That might solve your broccoli problem. :)
