Ok.. just a quick question. in my limited experience Angels seem to leave any other type of fish alone.. i was wondering if the same hold true with peacock gudgeons? anyone ever pair these up in a tank? i'm also considering a small school (5-6) cory sterbai's although i can't imagine that would pose problems. Thoughts?

They should be fine. I have 2 Peacock Gudgeons (click my journal in my sig if you want pics or other stuff) but they aren't pairs. You can do pairs if you want. Peacock are docile providing you have enough room.

What size is your tank?

I don't have any experience with peacock gudgeons, but I will guarantee you that angel fish will eat anything it can get in it's mouth. Mine leaves my honey gouramis, lemon tetras, kribs, and diamond tetras alone, but those are all far to big for him to eat. However, he sucked up the cherry shrimp and guppies like nobodies' business!

Again, I don't know anything about peacock gudgeons, but I don't think angels would bother sterbai cories as long as they are bought when they are large enough to not be eaten by the angel.

Actually Chrisinator your profile picture is exactly what sparked my curiosity! They are beautiful fish!

As of now everyone in the tank are juveniles.. angels are maybe quarter size.. so if they grow up together I think the gudgeons will be ok but I'm only guessing haha..

They will definetely fine. Angels being mid swimmers and Peacocks being bottom dwellers, they are out of each other's way. Also, watch out with the Peacock Gudgeons, most only take live food so that's somethign you should consider.

I have 4 of the peacock gudgeons in a 20 long. I like them and they are very pretty fish, but not active at all. If you are looking for active, outgoing fish probably not the best choice. I have one pair that spawn every couple weeks and 2 "extra" males.
Just a thought.
The only other inhabitants are 6 kuhli loaches which also hide all the time. Most of the time all you see in the tank are snails!!
