Can I keep angelfish in a 20 gallon. It is in between a long and a normal 20 gallon tank.

How many angelfish could I get?

What would you recommend for a diet?

20 gallons is too small for even a single angel. i had two juvenile angels growing out in a 20 and they very soon were much too big for the tank and i upgraded to a 55 gallon.

no angels for a 20!

It is about an inch wider than a normal 20 gallon, I can't measure because I'm getting ready for my birthday party.

For the sake of the fish lets just say its a normal 20 gallon.

instead of just asking what we suggest for a 20 gallon (which is a lot of different fish! lol), why not tell us what direction you want to take with this tank? do you want live plants? do you want lots of rockwork? what colours of fish do you prefer? what is your maintenance schedule? (some fish are more sensitive to water parameters than others, etc).

my 20 gallon (long, not regular dimension) currently has zebra danios, a betta, bristlenose plecos, a lone black ruby barb, and an albino rainbow shark. a bit of a hodgepodge, yes, but those are the fish i decided to keep when i downgraded from a 55 gallon.

I already have Aragonite sand, IM NOT CHANGING THAT EVER AGAIN!

I don't like to sensitive fish. I will go out of my way to get food for them though. I can't do too much maintenance because I'm setting up a 75 gallon (with a poisonous lionfish) so I will have to take it easy.

I will spend up to 10 dollars on each fish. I will have about 20 bucks to spend.

I like big fish, and fish with attitude and personality. I like catfish a lot.

A pair of convicts would be good, and then feed the babies that you don't want to the lionfish..

My crayfish keeps hacking the tails off my fish. First it was my Betta, then it was a guppy (and the darn thing isn't that big). I don't recommend keeping crayfish with fish anymore.
