Delawhere?
Has anyone kept bettas and angels together?
I have 3 female bettas in a 20G. I had originally purchased a male with them as well (I clearly hadn't done any recent research and must have had platy on the brain). They killed him promply after he built a bubble nest but have been living together peacefully ever since-approx. 1 month. They spend more time in the mid-tank and on the bottom than on the top and would be a lovely addition to my 38G, with my angel. She's pretty aggressive and won't tolerate nipping. I wonder if the girls will start fighting if I move them to a new tank, but I'm more concerned with how they will interact with the angel.

Well I guess it is not a common situation but I was hoping someone would say "yes, my female betta has been living with my angel for years!".

I have had all of the male bettas i ever had in my tanks with my angel fish.
I tried to keep a female in the tanks also but they died.I believe this was a result of the male chasing them to death.I had to take my last betta out of my 55g tank ,which includes four angels. He started to flare up at my new rams at the time.My female and male bettas never had a problem with my angels over a 8 year period of keeping them together or vice-versa!
I did start with them all being young ,so no territories had been established and it worked out well for me.If you try it, try to be around all day to observe their initial coexistence.Good luck.I hope it works out for the fish and you!

i had an old grumpy female betta in with two juvenile angels for a while. no issues at all. mind you, the angels were small and hadn't developed their full personalities yet.

Thank you all. I had given up on the thread. jm can you share why not? Do you think the bettas will be hard on the angel?

I find that it always depends on your fish. I currently have a pair of mid sized angelfish in a tank that also has a female betta. The betta seems more interested in them than they do in her. But I only have 1 betta... let me know how it goes with a larger group. I'm considering getting more females. My tank is also smaller than yours -29G. It's well planted and sports a variety of other tetras, platies and mollies. No one hides in my tank, it's one of the most peaceful tanks I've had in years. Give it a try and remove any trouble makers if it comes to that. :)

had this same question awhile back. I bought a female betta and put it in with my large Angelfish in a 55 gal tank and have had no problems at all. both kinda keep to themselves.

Female yes, male maybe, male and female eh..I wouldn't :/
