I have 30+ amano shrimps. A few of them have become noticeably dark. Their bodies are sort of brown. I'm curious about this color change.

I've noticed this with some of mine as well. I don't know why it happens, but they all live to a ripe old age, so it doesn't seem to be a problem.

What are they eating? Mine get blue/green when they eat clado algae, more tan when they eat prepared foods, and a more brownish blue color when eating hair algae.

So, their body color changes depending on the type of food? That's cool.

They've eaten a ton of diatoms (especially those 20 guys that I bought from you). Now that diatoms are all gone, I feed them with Hikari Shrimp cuisine. No wonder some of them have gotten brown.
