Air pump turning airline tube black

The color change is occurring as the tubing deteriorates. It will get stiff and eventually may pop off the pump outlet. If that would be a bad thing, change the tubing out about once a year. I use silicone air line and it gets stiff too, but not nearly as much as the cheap vinyl air lines.

okay thanks, I was worried that the motor to the air pump is having trouble with pumping out the air.
