I just got a african brown knife because I had freed up some room because I gave my zebra danios away, and I bought some frozen brine shrimp for it and I am just wondering how much and how do I feed them to him?
I put a chunk of the frozen into a shot glass, add neutral aqua. water with a turkey baster wait till it thaws then dole out little bursts with the baster into the tank. Three times a week all they can eat in a minute or two.
my brown knife loves shrimp pellets. i have had 2. the first one ate shrimp pellets and any thing live. i fed him guppies earth worms and ghost shrimp. the second one prefers shrimp pellets and guppies. he isnt real sure of the worms. i threw a grub in there once and he demolished that.
While this is an old thread, I've never heard of African Brown Knifefish going over 12". Other knifefish get 2-3 feet long (such as the clown knife). Here is the fishbase info on them: http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=5065
Just didn't want incorrect information floating around out there.
