Hi!

So after upgrading my turtle to a bigger tank I have a spare 30 gallon tank I want to turn into a planted aquarium. I was wondering what would be the best filter to use. I am a big fan of canister filters. I have a rena XP4 for my turtle and I absolutely love how simple it is to clean and how you can customize the media. I was thinking maybe the xp1 or xp2 for this aquarium? more leaning towards xp2 just for the extra media space...but I'm not sure if it's going to be too much flow for my planted aquarium. I am also going to install a pressurized CO2 system as well so I want to make sure everything works out well together. Any advice or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you in advance!

Also it doesn't have a hood or anything so I was also wondering what kind of light you would recommend for a heavily planted tank with CO2 :) Specific brands and hood recommendations would be great! Thanks!

What kind of plants in specific are you planning on?

I was thinking medium to high light? Since nothing is set up yet I can still change my mind, but I'm thinking that would be the way to go.

Tank depth? Substrate? Liquid ferts? EI dosing?

I am just starting and just wanted to know what filter would work best...I don;t have anything strictly determined yet...that is why I'm asking what canister filter should I buy....
