So i noticed my local walmart has some femals betta's. Walmart would never be my first choice for fish.. but my LFS has no females, I want to give my male betta a friend.. if i throw a female in there.. are they gauranteed to get along?

not 100% i wouldnt take the chance. ive heard many rumors of male beating female betta.

I'd try iy with 1 male, and 2 or 3 females. This will (in most cases) disperse the agression and keep your male happier :D

However, I don't know how big is the tank you currently have. To do this set up, I'd go with a 20 gl. tank minimum, so each theere is enough space for them to swim. Let's us know your tank size.

I own a 25gal tank... but the tank that this betta is in is just one of those plastic 2 gallon hex aquariums... its not large at all.. i tried putting it in my 25gal but teh danios wouldnt have it.. im ok leaving him alone.. just be nice for him to have a friend.

Never, never, never.... Multiple females will shred the male to bits...Keep Mr. Betta by himself....
I have never done it, but you are saying that you should NEVER under any circumstances (other than breeding) put a male and female in the same tank no matter what the size? Not even in a 55g or bigger?
