Hmm that is pretty nifty!
I could easily make that!

It looks like it is all made out of wood trim. You could buy trim already shaped like that, and mitre it all together to make a little stand like that.

wanna buy one already made?

do you have one already made? to fit a 2.5 gallon glass tank? that would be awsome! but i only have an Whisper 10 air pump to trade, i dont have money. pm me if ur interested!

Don, the wood and the stain alone would cost a lot more than what that filter is worth. I don't think he has one already made, he was offering to make one and sell it to you.

Amazing what appeal a matching stand and canopy provide that covers the frame of an aquarium. It truly makes it a piece of art and furniture besides living system. I wish I had that persons gift for carpentry id make them for mine. Refinishing is one thing but wood working skills is quite another to make something look professional rather then piecemeal.

Something on that scale (2.5g tank) is a perfect opportunity to jump into the world of carpentry and cabinet-making. So what if you've never done it before? It's never too early to start, to learn. Just make sure that you are supervised and are extremely careful with the tools (saws, miter boxes, etc.). The best way to learn is by doing. :)

I plan on doing something like this for MY 2.5g relatively soon as a first step into carpentry. I eventually want to build a cabinet for my 55g project that I will probably be starting next summer.
