Alright. Now since i got my 55G (so excited!!!!) IM planing on taking the stock out of my 10g and using the tank for guppies. I would like to get some fancy guppies with nice colors and i would like them to have lots of babies! lol.

Are there any special needs i would need to consider for an all guppy tank? If i got differnt variations of fancy guppies, will they still mate?

Here is my 10g how it sits now....

can i take out any of the plants and put them in my 55G(so i dont have to buy so much more!) or should i just leave everything how it is?

Thanks a bunch!

I would just leave it as is, but you can put some plants in your 55.

Guppies breed fairly easily, and don't worry about the different colorations: a fancy guppy is a fancy guppy. However, I would strongly reconsider this unless you are willing to raise the fry in separate tanks... and very often. Guppies can give birth basically every month, and they have dozens of fry at a time.

What about putting a divider in the tank? half for breeding, half for fry to grow?

not a bad idea, but keep in mind guppy fry are really, really tiny.

Yea i was thinkin about the size of the devider net as compared to the size of the fry.....but they ALL couldent make it the the holes...could they?

With this option in the air. Would that reduce my stocking to act like its a "5g" on each side, or will i still have 10g stocking capacity?

How many guppies do you think?

If you are going for a 10G without a divider and with no prospect of fry (or at least no prospect of keeping them), about 5-6 adult guppies would be fine. If you are considering fry, with a divider, half that (remember they still need space to swim around), but remember you should be ready to move the fry to other tanks when they mature.

try to find the netting with the smallest holes you can.

you'd still technically have the capacity, but then there's the physical space issues.

Well is it possible for at least a couple to survive if they can hide....maybe....?

yeah. buy some java moss and a lot of floating plants, and plenty will survive. in general, the parents only eat the unhealthy ones.
