Here are a few updated shots of my fish and turtle combo, 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tank. I just got a bunch of free water hyacinth this weekend too from the nursery down the street. Seems I found a plant that the turtles aren't interested in eating for a change.

Stock list:

1 male Red Cheek Mud Turtle
1 male and 1 female Stinkpot Musk Turtle
1 female Convict Cichild
1 male Paratilapia polleni
1 Pterygoplichthys pardalis
10+ Giant Danios

That is great! I thought you couldn't keep turtles with fish?

Thanks everyone.

Usually mixing fish and turtles isn't the best idea but it can be done as you can see. A lot of it has to do with the space you provide, the speices of turtle and how well they are fed. The two turtle species I have in there do not activily prey on fish. In the wild they mainly walk along the bottom feeding on snails, worms, shrimp, insects, carrion and plants. I have never had a fish eaten in this setup. Actually the fish are doing so well that I started with 10 danios and now I have around 18-20.

That is really a neat set up! I love the photos of that red cheek turtle--he looks amused!!! And very happy!!!

Alright. I have seen a turtle in a lfs that was in a tank with fish and was eating them one by one. I told the guy that this was happening and he said that he will deal with it later. They were put in with zebra danios so maybe they were just "feeders".
