Mr Aqua 11.4 Gal. Skimmer Choice

Hi All -

I have a Mr Aqua 11.4 gal tank and am planning to use either the Hydor Slim Skim or Tunze 9002 Nano skimmer. I like the Hydor better because of it's looks and the overall good reviews I've read.

Has anyone used either with this tank?

Assuming a 1/2" to 3/4" Water level below the top of the tank will there be enough room to operate either skimmer with a 1" sand bed?

Tanks dimensions are 18.9 x 11.8 x 11.8

Tunze height = 13.3"
Hydor height = 12"

Dimensions are including the cup I belive, the tunze requires about 8" submersion. Not sure about the Hydor my internal skimmer experience is limited to Tunze and Aquaticlife. I do endorse the Tunze I've been pleased with mine.
