I just bought a 4-5" silver arowana and it is housed with my 5-6" BGK in my 75g and a 4" bala shark. I was wondering what tank mates would go well with the aro. I am thinking of a predator of some sort. Needle nose "gars" have come to mind but am weery because they only grow up to about a foot and they also swim up top so I think there would be a slight confrontation there. Lima shovelnose I believe I will be getting but I just want to be sure it wo uld work out. I also have 2 3" clown loaches that I forgot about. they are currently in a 75g but once the aro grows they will be going in something larger not sure what though. Remember preferably I would like a predator but not one of the real aggresive ones.

All of those fish get way way too big for a 75g tank. "Something Larger" would have to be in the area of 250+ gallons to house those beasts suitably...so that being said, I cannot suggest you put any more fish in there, but I do suggest you take the arrowana back while its still early. He will out grow and it won't be long. It won't be long before you are overstocked, so i would look to uprade soon or trade\sell them back. Good luck.

I hate it when people do that over stocking stuff. I know how to stock tanks. It is 4" big. I am aware of how big they get. Save that for people who dont really know what they are doing. It is temporary. Like I said. If i would have said that it was fine to keep it in for a while than I could understand. I do research on fish clearly and that is why I am on this forum asking questions. I have no problem getting a bigger tank when it arises. Until than it is fine. I dont mean to be a jerk but c'mon. and I know what "something" bigger intails so dont be *** and quote me like that to mock me. sorry I didnt specify the amount of gallons I was thinking of.

:sim: We aren't able to read minds...I worked with what you specified so if you don't want a "***" response, then you shoulda specified that you knew you needed a much larger tank, not just something bigger....most people think something bigger is slightly bigger...it is something bigger, but not enough.... Confused? ha! anyway, I would still take the arrowana back unless you do a huge tank...and 4" isn't overstocked, but thats why I said later you will be overstocked.
