hello folks,

we purchased a piece of green torchlight coral from our lfs.I noticed at night under the moonlights that one of the five branches of coral is closed up while the others are flowing in the currents.
Under closer examination with a flashlight you can see what looks like a feather duster opening and closing from inside the torch..I would say that there is a group of twenty or so one inch long, white hair like fingers that open and close..It also seems that they open and close in a different direction every time. maybe the current or that it is turning..
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? or is this normal?aptasia?

any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Peter

Gone are the days we stopped to decide where we should go, we just ride.

I've seen something simular at my local fish dealer's. It seemed to me that some type of filter feeding worm had made a home out of the same type of coral. The shop owner said that they would coexist quit peacfully together.

I also have the same issues. Have you seen any problems due to these white hair like fingers?
