Will a tear in a tail "heal", or is it a permenant thing?
I just got him yesterday so I don't know if it's an injury or not. I'm just wondering, if it is an injury will his tail fill out again?

ETA: My name is FGS Flying High and I have a betta addiction.
 
It should heal up with clean water. One caution: I had a delta tail betta who always blew out/tore his tail fin. He'd heal up and then get another tear. I lost him to dropsy, my suspicion is the frequent tail damage made him susceptible to an internal issue.
