This guy I got for free 3 days ago because he was on his side in his cup gasping for air and was a dull almost gray color. The lady said he and 3 others that were as bad off as him weren't for sale because they were ready to kick the bucket. I talked her into letting me take one home and try to nurse him back. She proceeded to tell me that she has " cared for many bettas over the years that she has worked there" and thought it was a waste of time, that she knew he wasn't going to make it. Eventually after pleading, she let me take one home.

In 3 days he has colored up some, not swimming on his side, and has eaten a little tiny bit...Since he is starting to look like he will be a peach color, I named him Jamba. His fins are split, and I'm hoping that will heal up nicely with time. On to the pictures:

Thanks fishycat! You got it-Jamba Juice lol! I think he's turning into quite the handsome little man. It's exciting that I will get to watch his colors develop as time goes by :)

When he reaches his full glory I might just take a picture of him down to that "experienced" seller and show her what he came to be..
I doubt she would even remember though

Thanks ash! I wish I would have taken a picture of him on the day I brought him home so you could see just how far he has come in 3 days. Imagine 3 weeks! He better keep on keepin on...I'm spoiling the crap outta him.

He really is a 'treasure'. Congrats. He looks like he's really happy to have a mommy that loves him finally.
