Just wanted to share some photos of my Dario Dario that I got from Rachel. (thanks again Rachel, I'll be back for more) They are great gems to have. I'm thinking about either my 5 hex or 10g tank and turning into a tank that will be as close as possible to their natural habitat.

Does anyone know of a site that lists plants by their native area?

(photos aren't the best)

Aw I love teeny dario darios! I know there's a site like you're asking about - you may want to ask in the planted section, I forgot who recommended it.

Btw, your thread may get moved as scarlet badis aren't anabantoids... But thanks for sharing pics, so cute!!

I just found this - thought you might find it helpful

Plant species at one locality included members of Hygrophilia, Limnophila, Ottelia, Rotala and Vallisneria. At the type locality it was found living sympatrically with Badis blosyrus and B. kanabos.

Thanks everyone.

And thanks for the link, Chrisinator

I thought Dario dario were classified under anabantoids.. They are under the anabantoids at Aquabid in the non-betta area. My mistake on that. What are they consider?

As far as I know they don't have the labyrinth organ... They're classified as nandidae versus anabantoid. But they do share similar spawning rituals (embracing the female).

Whoops, no longer nandidae, rather they now have their own genus Dario!
