Hello,
so I bought a pair of kribs from my lfs 2 weeks ago and they have already laid eggs!! I'm quite excited. These are the first fish I've bred other than guppies. Lol. And the best thing is: she laid in a shell where I can see :) so pics up tomorrow. But I do have a few questions...

How long will it take for fry to hatch?
Will the fry be safe with 2 loaches, 2 BN's, a boe, a tetra and the pair of kribs?
Should I just leave the fry in there or move them to my other tank?
How do I feed the fry if they are in there without the other fish eating the food first? Lol.

Thanks in advance!! Haydn :)

The fry will most likely be eaten by the other fish. If you want to save them you should move the eggs, not the young hatchlings. Newly hatched fish, like human babies are fragile.

The better solution would be to move either the breeders into a new tank or remove all other fish before the eggs hatch. Remember that in nature only a very few fry survive despite the best efforts of the parents. The parents may also eat the fry/eggs if the feel unable to protect them.

Over night something has eaten a lot of the eggs :( there's only two left. I'm just scared if I pull the pair out and the eggs it might stress them and break their bond...

This is the single egg I rescued. I hope it hatches :P And the two parents :) They are beautiful. The male is on the left and the female on the right :)

Still hasn't hatched.. I'm not sure how long it takes to hatch but I hope they lay again soon cause I'm sure the babies would look great if they grew up
