The bottle with the window screen is for the female Betta for spawning, it has window screen over the slit to provide flow because I will cap the bottle.

The bubble wrap is to protect the male's bubble nest.

I'm getting a heater Friday after school, the Bettas ship November 22nd.

I'm concerned about how to provide ample heat to the baby Bettas in the bottles. Any suggestions?

I'm going to suggest floating the bottles in a larger tank...Then just heat the larger tank, problem solved.

I don't have enough room to float 35 bottles in my 30 gallon. Should I get two heaters when I got out and just heat a huge bucket and float them in my garage?

I reccomend buying a shallow but really wide rubbermaid container and filling it with water and heating it. Then place the bottles in the container, there should be enough water in the bottles so that they will sink and sit nicely on the bottom. Try to find a container tall enough to cover though. Also just a suggestion, I think you upgrade that spawning tank to something a little better. I'd get a 10 gallon tank that is bare bottomed. Live plants like java moss would be something to consider also. Do you have something to feed the newly hatched fry too? If not i highly reccomend microworms or vinegar eels. After 3 weeks of feeding the fry that i use atisons betta starter. Good luck and i hope this advice helps.

I'm very new to Bettas myself, but aren't Bettas good jumpers? I'd be worried about a tank with no lid.

UPDATE:
I hooked the bottle on the tank and moved it up.
I took all the gravel out.
I put some fake plants in there.
I put some filter floss around the grated intake tube.

I plan to feed the newly hatched fry with egg yolk dispersed in water and strained through a fish net and do bi-weekly water changes to compensate for the extra food.

I can't go to a 10 because it's too late notice and I'm broke.

I did find a large Tupperware that I will heat with the bottles in. When I go to Petco tomorrow after school, I'll get two heaters, one for the tank and one for the Tupperware container.
