Hi all

I am finally getting to go to the Ga Aquarium and need all the tips and hints as the best way to see as much as possible.

I know we have a member that volunteers there so hopefully he/she see this.

I know I want to see the behind the scenes tour what else?

Thanks in advance

I am going end of the month and CANT WAIT....
I will be paying close attention to this one.

Me and my g/f been plannin on going sometime soon, i live an hour and a half away and still haven't been, i always end up going to the tennesse aquarium.

I hope to go there eventually. Have fun.

I am extremely jealous. I have the GA aquarium on my list of places to go when I get a new job. I must now re-double the job search.

I have been there twice - and LOVE IT!!

I have not yet been able to do the behind the scenes tour, but plan to next time we go. The first time we went, we only had a couple hours before having to be at the airport (definitely not enough time!!), and the 2nd time was a special event/party, and thus the setup was different, so no behind the scenes and some other "regular" things were available. Still it was fun. :)

I definitely recommend making a day of it. Bring a camera (or three), extra batteries, and have a wonderful time!!

I've been there, too...a year or two ago. Great place. Don't take a pocket knife...when I was there you had to go through a security search and magnometer (one of those machines that beeps at metal). I had to argue that my swiss army travelor (TSA approved - no knife blade just scissors, glasses screwdriver and nail file) was not a weapon.

Definitely expect to spend 4+ hours there. The walk through area with whale sharks and other fish above you is spectacular.

The cichlid tanks were poorly labelled when I was there and I seem to recall they had mixed species from different areas (hope they've corrected that now).

It is a very nice aquarium.

HN is the one that volunteers there, but he's no longer around the site.

The behind the scenes tour is a must-see, I'm so glad you're planning on that. We did that together and it's pretty amazing- we got there just in time for whale shark feeding time!
