Is this to much light?

I have a current PC light fixture that fits on a 37g tank, bulbs are 2x96w. I was wondering is that to much light for that size tank? I'm new to planted tanks as wanted to try it out figure my 37g would be real nice to do instead of my first initial thought of doing a 10g.

Over on APC, some pillock has rigged up 288w above an 18gal. 16wpg! I think everyone there (including myself) is too polite to point out the silliness of such a thing. But he's happy, so that's really all that counts in the end, I guess.

Yes, 192w over 37g is way too much. But it could be worse! :D

Wow, I guess if it's working...

Alright I'm looking to get a nice crisp look, so what wattage any temp would you guys recommend? For plants I'm not to sure but know HC will be in it.

6500K - 6700K rating is what plants like. there's more to it than just wpg. Do you know what the K rating for the bulb is?

I will have to check to see what the K rating is on the bulbs I currently have. I was thinking of just replacing either one of the bulbs or both to a proper wattage so I can run both bulbs instead of the one.
