Hi all!
I bought some betta food pellets to give my betta and also in an effort to stop overfeeding him. Problem is he doesn't seem to like them. He spits them out immediatly. Is this common? will he eat them later after they've softened up or something?
Thanks.

I have 3 bettas. 2 of them love the pellets but my 3rd one will only eat bloodworms. I have tried for about a week with just trying pellets but he still refuses. I hope someone can give an answer as to why. I would say just keep trying the pellets.

It is not uncommon for a Betta to not eat a new food at first. Just keep trying the pellets and he will eventually eat them. He will not starve himself and will go for the pellets eventually.

Don't worry if your Betta still does not eat the pellets after a while, Bettas can go longer without food then you might think.

Don't feed a Betta a diet consisting only of blood worms, blood worms are not a balanced diet.

Bottom line: Just keep feeding the Betta the pellets and nothing else, he won't starve himself and will eventually eat the pellets.

When he is hungry..he will eat. Try Ken's betta pellets...my bettas love all of his stuff.

yeppers!

ok thanks!!

bettas are picky little ***** but somehow they make you love em. i had mine refuse to eat flakes for almost two weeks but after a little while he started to pick them up after they hit the bottom.like what was previously said when they get hungry enough they will eat.

My first betta did the exact same thing! It was such a pain, but I kept offering them and after abit he decided that the pellets weren't so bad after all and certainly better then starving. After that I started feeding him his favorite blood worm treats again. I now have 3 betta fish... They are so addicting hahaha. So just hang in there he will eat them eventually.
