As the title suggests, I am going to be doing a tank build.:nilly: I have had the 90 gal. for about a month now but the addition of the first fish has marked the begining of the build. The final stock list will be:
-African Rope Fish
-Leopard Spotted Ctenopoma
-Longfin Tetra
-Siamese algea eater
-African Knifefish
The fish that went in today is a 2-inch SAE and he is very active and healthy. I tried to take a pic but he is really small and fast so I couldnt get a shot with all of him in it. The tank is currently bare with the exception of some driftwood but substrate and plants will come very soon, along with Co2 injection. So thanks in advance for any input and there will be more to come...lots more :D
Happy fishkeeping :),
Tom

First Pics

Here is a pic from when I first got the tank.

ohhh sounds nice but wont the knife fish eat the smaller fish

but hey im subscribed not that I know anything about plants but 90g planted with a plan in mind sounds nice

The african knife only grows to a length of 9 inches most of the time and max's out at 12 inches. The longfin tetra grows 5 and a half inches, is deep bodied, and is the smallest so no problem there.

I have a pair of african knives male and female and I am shocked at what the male is able to fit in his gullet!!!!

STOCK LIST UPDATE

Alright, so I am concerned about the African knife fish eating the longfin tetras so I am replacing the tetras with a yellow marbled syno. If anybody knows about a large shoaler that would fit in this tank with neutral pH and hardness and a temperature of 26 degrees. The shoaler would have to be between 6 and 8 inches and would have to be fairly deep bodied and plant-friendly. I am currently researching so updates to follow. :)

yellow sunfish are about that size and they shoal, don't know if they can deal with a warm tank though.
