nO! my fishes are all developing ick/! those white specks of dots on their fins,

this is why the GT is acting weird and the convitcs are following up on it too!

how can i cure them from this and why did it happend ?!

someone please help
 
Also, as I mentioned in your other thread, I think you should get a handle on your water params and make sure ammonia and nitrite are 0, or as close to 0 as possible.
 
NO NO NO NO NO!

DO NOT, use aquarium salt to treat ich.. its not gonna do jack.


USE NORMAL TABLE SALT (yes the kind you buy at the grocery store)

1 tsp per gallon should do it, and turn the heat up to about 82F

this will speed up the process of the ichs life... and then the salt will kill the existing ich so it cannot spread.


Dont panic.. its easy enough to treat--- just dont use any ich chemicals at all.. and certainly dont use aquarium salt.... NORMAL SALT is the answer.. I have done it a thousand times
 
I don't see why aquarium salt wouldn't work, since it is sodium chloride, same stuff as in a non-iodized table salt (if you are going to use table salt make sure it is non-iodized), just costs more.

I've treated convicts for ich numerous times when I first started keeping fish with api's salt and it helped every time.
 
I agree that API salt will do the trick with the heat turned up to 82*. Don't go above 82* or you may kill the fish.

I only do the salt/heat and it works perfectly for me. I've learned to keep my tanks at 80* and haven't had an Ich outbreak in 5 years since I started doing it.
 
well I have never used aquarium salt to treat ich. I always use table salt and I have even used iodized table salt (though I dont now)

I run a small amount of aquarium salt in my tanks anyway and it has never seemed to make any difference on ich.

I might be wrong about weather it will work or not.. but I know that it is substantially more expensive than simple table salt either way

and table salt works like a charm
