Currently I have:
1 Pleco
1 Jack Dempsey
1 Green Terror
2 Silver Dollars
1 Tiger Barb

The reason I have the silver dollars and tiger barb are because they are what is left of my old stock and I am fully aware that the JD and GT will kill them eventually. But, what else can I put into my tank, assuming that the silver dollars and tiger barb will not be there for much longer?

common pleco

Alright, as of my FINAL stock, I will have:
1 GT
1 JD
1 Tiger Oscar
1 Common Pleco

BUT as of right now I have the above mentioned and:

1 TIger Barb
2 Silver Dollars

And I have been putting in feeder guppies for my cichlids, but they aren't eating them. Is this bad? Are they too small to have a taste for live feeders right now? What should I be feeding them instead if so?

common pleco

That really doesn't answer the question...quite a few species are referred to as "common plecos" and some will far outgrow this tank size.

regarding feeders, its a risky business unless you are raising them yourself. Its not a very healthy staple diet and its a chance for contaminating your tank with a nasty disease. Personally, I would stick to dry and frozen foods.

To be honest, your tank will be too small for the fish you plan on keeping. I'd be surprised if you do not run into aggression issues in the future as they mature.

I farm raise my own guppies in a ten gallon tank in our family room.
And I am well aware of the size constraints with the cichlids on my tank, but I will keep the oscar when that happens and give the GT and JD away.
Are blood worms an adequate food for my cichlids?
And I can't really answer your question fully because I got it at Petsmart about a year ago and it just said "Pleco" as the name. No other information.

Use the feeders occasionally. Blood worms are good but vary the diet...there are a ton of flake/pellet brands out there that are specifically for cichlids as well as many dry "carnivore" foods.

IMHO, it is in your best interest to rehome the fish you are not keeping as soon as you can. It's a lot harder to find suitable homes when they are reaching full size. It's also a reason why you should not add any more fish...you are facing stocking futures in the future already.

As for the pleco, it would be a good idea to get a better ID. That way you can tell if the potential size is another issue. Use planetcatfish as your resource or just post a pic in the pleco section asking for help.

Dude, I just got a Pleco. Just a Pleco. A common Petco Pleco. Petco says they will grow to be 24" but mine has stopped growing at 12. I can only hope he doesn't get any bigger.
