So I am the average aquarist that falls into the category of mesmerized by angelfish. Before I had known about cycling tanks and water chemistry, I had bought and killed an angelfish due to ammonia spikes and overstocking, and so forth. Now I am very knowledgeable in water paramets and so forth... But I wanted to know if there was any strain/breed of angel that was stronger than others, and vice versa. Thanks! (also if certain strains have different behaviors, requirements, etc) [probably not but just checking]

three known species
P. Altum
P.Scalare
P. Leopoldi

P. Scalare are the most common.

in this you will find different color variants.

most will be fine.. I'd recommend this species.
at one point the DD Blacks were a bit more difficult..

Altum are generally considered the more difficult to keep..they are only available certain times of the year.

much of it depends on the source.

I've seen some of the blushers that were pretty stout fish

Off topic but what is your opinion in the best cleaners for a freshwater tank? ive got a 29g and cant get a pleco or anything. Getting a bamboo shrimp cause anything smaller will get eaten. Any dwarf suckerfish or snails to reccomend?

most recommend good hard elbow gease..aka scraper and routine maint.
if you are looking for a bottom dweller.. maybe BN pleco..they can range in size but most are less than 6"
