Most canisters are a breeze to setup, I think the Hydor looks pretty simple.
The great thing about canisters is they can go for a few months between cleaning and can be setup with whatever media you like.

set-up the canister with mostly all bio-media, like maybe a piece of poly filter pad first and fill the rest with a ceramic type media, this way it will probably last a while between cleanings and still offer a lot of bio-filtration, and set-up the ac-110 however you like. it's always nice to have more than one filter running that way you can rotate cleaning. Should actually be a great combo. They look a lot worse than they really are to clean, pretty easy and simple once you get used to it.
