Hey all, while I was checking out my planted tank i noticed that two of my German rams had haid eggs on one of my amazon swords!!!!! I dont know when they laid them, but I know they were kicking other fishes butts! Here are my specs. 125 gal tank, ph about 6.4, very low hardness, temp bout 82, NH3, NO2, and NO3 are all nill. Well, got a little nitrates but its for my plants :) Um, other than that, its very heavily planted and I just need to know what to do now. I have never had anything breed in my tank but snails lol. I read that their eggs last about 40 hours before they hatch. I dont know how much time I got left until they hatch. I have some artemia underway. the eggs are white, is this normal? Are they infertile? also, could I move the parents and eggs to another tank? Thanks so much for the help! I'm so nervous! any comments will be taken!

Aw, well, if they are infertile i guess that it was a good go. I heard that sometimes they will have to try a ew times anyways huh?

yea, they are still white today and I noticed that one of the parents have flew the nest. the other is still hanging around, but I dont think she is into it like she was last night.

Once they start spawning they'll continue for some time. They will improve with practice, but if you want to raise any fry it would be a good idea to consider a divider or a growout tank.
