I bought a pair of German Blue Rams at the end of the this summer. The male was somewhat aggressive toward the female and close to a month later the female died. I wasn't sure if it was male's fault our not. Just recently I read that if the Rams don't have enough caves to hide in they can become aggressive. I had one cave in my 29g tank already so I added a second one. The male is still being somewhat aggressive, particularly towards my two corys. So now I'm not sure what to do. I could add another cave but the male ram doesn't seem use the ones already in the tank. He does occasionally hide under the driftwood in the tank but most of the time he just patrols the front of the tank. Any tips or suggestions are much appreciated.

Other fish in the tank:

5 zebra danios

2 panda corys

1 emperor pleco

1 snail

Sometimes a pair doesnt necessarily mean mated pair. Also when given specific area/item for them to claim, they can even beocome more aggressive/protective of their turf, especially when breeding.

As far as taming fish, the following method did work for me from time to time and from fish to fish.

Try isolating GBR in large breeder trap with good circulation or in DIY clear palstic jar with lots and lots of holes for circulation for a while.
Remember, it should have enough room for him to walkabout, lol.

If this doesnt work, perhaps a time to upgrade to longer/bigger tank and X-mas is approaching!!!
