I am wanting to add a fire eel in my 150 g tank. Presently it's home to 4 parrots, 3 severums, striped raphael and a pleco. I am open for any suggestions and experiences with fire eels.

They are master escape artists, so be sure your tank, especially around the top edges, is covered well. Provide a place for it to hide. You can train them to eat from your fingers. Krill, earthworms, etc. Don't expect them to eat flakes or pellets.

I've had a fire eel for about 5 months now. He's a great fish and will eat out of my hands. A lot of fun to watch swim around and bury himself.

they get OUT of the tank? do they die after that??
