10g light suggestion?

If you can find 13-15watt 6700K CFL bulbs, definately go with those if you want a cheap solution to your lighting. You could always go with other more expensive lighting options, but your stock hood(if its like mine) can accomodate 2x 15watt bulbs. Do not go over this limit.

If you did two 15 watt CFL's, you wouldn't have to modify your hood and you would be pushing 3 watts per gallon. If you go with two 13watt CFL's, your watt's per gallon would be sitting at 2.6w/g. Like I said before, I am running two 10watt CFL's in my 10 gallon and have 2.0watts/gallon. My plants are growing great especially with the addition of co2.

Ok cool thanks for the info! I work at Lowes and I have work today so I will be seeing if we have 15w 6700k CFL bulbs.

Well after looking at the stock hood I was going use to do the DIY lighting I see that it got melted some how, don't even know when, so I won't be able to use that hood. My options now are either get another stock hood like that, get a incadescent hood were I can screw in 2 CFL's, or get something different.

Anyone have any input on the incadescent hood that you can screw in 2 CFL bulbs into? I know I would be able to fit 23w CFL's but I would probably go with a little smaller wattage maybe.
