Two 5" albino Oscars for a 80 tall tank.

Well not exactly. I moved my 1 old 3" Barb in with my silver dollars in the 100 tank and my aggressive Tetra minors (S Africans) in with my medium/small Cichlid Africans in the 244 tanks. So my new 4" Albino Oscars have the 60 long tank to themselves, $7 ea Petsmart.

They got 2 Oscars at the Petsmart near my house that nobody wants cuz there kinda dull in color and now there getting big there kept together in there own tank. I feel bad for them and knowing me if I had the tank space I would take them. Nice fish. I remember my oscar before was an albino tiger oscar it looked awesome best color pattern iver seen on a oscar sadly I sold it I regret doing that.

Hi Ger. Yeah this is my first Oscar in 35 years since I had a red Oscar at 15 in the 70's. The one thing that sticks in my mind is how bullet proof they were so hardy, something I need here with my hard water and also its like reliving the experience yet with a type I never owned in fact they never had back then albino's. Only this time I won't be feeding them feeders as I have way too much cichlid pellets to get rid of.

The only thing is I can already see how big their poop is and my 60 tanks just happens to have the lightest filtration with only a Mag 350 and Fluval 404. I also have an Aqua-Tech 40-60 mounted with a bunch of pothos house plant growing out of the filter void I'm hoping will curb the Nitrates, so far it seems to be working but too early yet to tell for sure. If the Oscars turn out to be too dirty Ill have to switch filters and take the FX5 off my koi tank and do some switching around.

Hay GER did you ever get that welded double aquarium frame or your aquaclear impeller replaced?

Yeah Oscars sure are poop machines as far as cichlids go cuz they cant compete against plecos in that department. As long as you do the needed WC's you should be fine for awhile keeping those Oscars in there. Ive seen many type of O's and have owned many in my not so knowledgable days. Only ones I havent owned are the fancy oscars with those long fins like the one in steelshades avitar. Ive had black marble red tiger and albino oscars.

Oh nah never got that stand made never found anyone who knows how to weld also that filter messed up the threading messed up somehow. I went and cleaned it well when I put everything back it kept leaking and the seal ring was still good no damage but the threading to the plastic case was all tweaked. I threw it out and got a new filter.

I know my python does the job. The python syphon works great at removing the fecal matter left behind by our beloved fish. I do know that yeah some syphons suck by not sucking lol. (pun intended) But yeah they also got some battery operated ones which work good but there strictly to remove the poop and not to do a WC.

I have 3 oscars in a 155 bow. They have never eaten any kind of feeder fish. They stay together. I feed them a variety of food. I have had them since they were two inches long.
