Last week I found a Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus(L001 or L022)in with our order of Sailfin plecs (P.Gibbiceps) at work . I have had a hard time finding anything on them whatsoever. I've found out they grow to maw size of inbetween 8-12" but other than that nothing. I was just wondering if anyone here has had one and could offer any special advice other than obvious plec info.
I was also wondering if anyone knew how much its worth. I paid $15 canadian for a 3 1/2" fish. The only reason I ask is because from what I have read they are very rare and would like to know if I got a deal.

They're one of the most easy plecos to care for. Food wise, they're not choosy and will eat most of the sinking pellets that you have for your other fishes. You might want to supplement its diet with zucchini, cucumber, algae wafers once in a while to give it more variety.

Here's my little guy, he is 4IN or so and he grew 2IN in about 2-3 months. LFS sold him as a Common 18IN+ Pleco, but he isn't. I can't wait until he is full grown!

Mine is roughly 12" maybe a bit smaller he is king of my 55gal tank for right now. Bought it at bout 2" several years back. There easy to care for there just like a gibby but small diff color but there personalities are the same they eat the same foods oh and best thing is they stay smaller so a HUGE tank is not need a 75gal would be good enough. My tank is actually 53gal its deep 15" so he has room to turn unlike a 55gal that is 12" deep I think.
