You guys have to help me out. I have had trouble breeding my Kribs of all fish - for the past three years!!! I have tried changing water more regularly, cichlid conditioner, you name it. I regularly check the pH and it is always around 7.4. The female will lay eggs, guard the cave, but in a couple of days she's back swimming around the tank and no eggs. This last time, she laid her eggs and stayed guarding them for a days...longer than normal. I thought I had it. The male also stayed around the cave also guarding it. Is my male just not fertilizing the eggs. Infertile? Can I put two males in the same tank? Two females? 36 gallon hex. This is really getting frustrating.

what substrade do you have? What rocks do you have? What are your params?

why don't you take the eggs out when you see them and see if they hatch that way you'll know if the eggs are fertile or not. can you see the color of the eggs? sorry to hear about your luck with them. I've raised 50+ kribs to adulthood this past year, and have a new spawn now. My krib male is at least 3yrs old I'm guess so it's not age, I hear they only leave 3-5yrs. =/ goodluck. what kind of tank setup do you have?(decor)
