Hi guys,

I think my betta Merric has anchor worms!! I think this because the white spots don't look like grains of salt/sand.

I'm posting pictures to see if you guys can help me out.

Depending of what you guys think he has, please suggest what do?

Help needed,
Patty

They really don't look round, like ick. More like claw-like.
Here are some close ups.

They do look like anchor worms to me. I've only dealt with them once and did a salt dip followed by using tweezers to remove the worms. You have to grip them as close to the base as possible, just like with ticks, and then pull them out.

Oh gosh, anchor worms. Over never dealt with them.
How the heck do you do the tweezing with a moving fish? Please help me on how. I don't want him to die. I only have him since July 2016.

Thank you
Patty

You'll have to net him out and use the net to hold him. Remove one with tweezers, dip the net back into the water to allow him to recover a bit, pull the net back out and remove the next. Repeat until all the worms are gone. The final dip should be a salt dip. I would recommend getting a treatment for external parasites as well to dose the tank with after you've removed the worms.
