breaking live rock for aquascaping

I will be picking up another 5kg of rock tomorrow so will be rescaping my tank. I would like peoples opinion on a peice of rock i already have.

What im thinking of doing is breaking it up and using it up as base rock for my new aquascaping or should i leave it as it is and aquascape around it?

I wouldn't break it up. Looks quite nice with the shelves it has. If you think it is too tall for your next scape, maybe lay it down and go on top of it rather than around. If it doesn't work you can still stand it up again without it needing any support.

There is no way i would break that up. Buy cheap dry rock for your base, add some nice coraline coated pieces for seed and have an awesome display. Ive never seen nicer rock.

I would not break it up. Just put your mind at work and you will see that you can do just as many amazing things with it just the way it is. Good luck.

Looks great.

Some people don't like breaking live rock because they think bad stuff might come out, but it won't. LR is "hollow" so nothing is sealed inside.
